Background

HRC is one of the fastest growing conglomerates in Bangladesh with independent companies & a host of associated undertakings and interest in vital sectors of the economy of Bangladesh and an expansive presence in South Asia.

HRC started his journey on 14th March’ 1991 through Shipping Agency in Chittagong & Mongla ports. The challenge was tough, chips were down and doubters were all around us. Over the next few years, with the vision of the founder entrepreneur Sayeed Hossain Chowdhury, HRC was to carve out a niche for itself and set the foundation for this conglomerate we know today. Now HRC has become a leading conglomerate of Bangladesh consisting 18th numbers of companies and a workforce 3000. The companies are independently driven by dedicated team of professionals with enviable track records. HRC through its associate companies also has substantial investment in various sectors.

By dint of hard work, strong leadership, farsightedness and backed by a committed & professional management team, today’s achievement was possible. March 2005 the shipping agency business grew to be the biggest shipping agency house and the largest private sector ship owner/operator of Bangladesh. Government of Bangladesh awarded CIP status for 11 times taking into account HRC’s export performance. HRC has so far been awarded with 11 National Export Trophies (9 Gold + 2 Silver) for its achievements.

HRC has already entered into strategic alliance (partnership) with a number of Europe based companies. Joint venture projects are now being actively pursued with overseas companies. In 2003 Mr. Sayeed Hossain Chowdhury, Chairman & CEO of HRC has been awarded the Industry Business Award-2003 as the best Bangladeshi Shipping Entrepreneur for glorious performance in the field of Ship Owning/operation in Bangladesh.
