Nineteen years ago in March 1991 the journey started with only 2 companies, engaged in shipping agency and tea exports, with 80 staffs in the payroll.The challenge was tough, chips were down and doubters were all around us. Over the next few years, with the vision of the founder entrepreneur Sayeed Hossain Chowdhury, HRC was to carve out a niche for itself and set the foundation for this conglomerate we know today.

March 2005 the shipping agency business grew to be the biggest shipping agency house and the largest private sector ship owner/operator of Bangladesh.Tea exports received international recognition and CIP (Commercially Important Person) status awarded by Government of Bangladesh to the Group Chairman and CEO for 12 consecutive years. By purchasing two (2) tea estates HRC became the only indigenous Bangladeshi Company to be engaged in tea plantation, exports and local market. There are now more than 2800 employees –
