During the 2001 Gulf War all Feeder Operations calling Sri Lankan Ports imposed "War Risk Premium" . In the spirit of SAARC co-operation HRC vessels continued to call Colombo port without imposing any such premium. To mark this occasion the Master of M.V. Banga Biraj was formally presented with a plaque by the Sri Lanka Ports Authority acknowledging HRC's commitment to its service and the trade.
